Edna Fraley, 98, a longtime resident of The Dalles, Ore, died April 4, 2013.
She was born Aug. 10, 1914, one of nine children, to Alfred and Edith (Gregg) Lyons in Johnson City, Tenn. Her family moved to Oregon in 1928, arriving in Rufus, Ore. by train. She graduated from Kent High School in 1934.
She married Robert Schilling in 1935 and they had two children, Bobetta and Duane. They were divorced and she began working at the First National Bank (Gayer Building) in The Dalles in 1946, retiring after 28 years.
She loved to bowl. She met Verl R. Fraley and they bowled together at the Recreation and Westgate Bowling alleys. They were married in 1960 and traveled to many areas and fished. They traveled to Germany where Verl was stationed in the service.
She was a member of the First Christian Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by her daughter Bobetta, sister Marylou Earl, grandchildren Ted (Denise), Mike (Darci) and Bill (Megan) Proctor, Brad Schilling, Roxanne Klaviter and Bob Schilling, eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Verl, son Duane, her parents and 7 of her siblings.
Gravesite services will be at noon April 12, 2013 at Threemile Cemetery with her ashes placed next to her husband Verl.
A family and friends gathering is planned for 1:30 p.m. April 12, at Springs at Mill Creek, 1201 W. 10th St., The Dalles.
