Dorothy L. Marshall, 82, a resident of Dufur, Ore., died at home Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013.
She was born May 12, 1931, in Spokane, Wash., the second of four children to James and Florence (Salter) Jess. She was raised and educated in Coulee City, Wash., where she graduated from high school.
On Oct. 10, 1947, she and Merle Marshall were married. They have resided in Dufur, Ore., for the past 57 years.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing and traveling.
She worked for many years as bookkeeper and office manager for DePriest Farm Equipment. She also worked for Merle Huston at the hardware store.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Merle Marshall; daughter Judy E. Marshall; son Jerry M. Marshall and his wife Beverly; granddaughter Amy Cantrell and her husband Schown; and great grandchildren Kaleb and London Cantrell; brothers Robert Jess and his wife Nancy, Walla Walla, Wash., and their children Sherri and Cindy and Tom; Jess and his wife Phyllis, Wenatchee, Wash., and their children Jim and Wade.
Services will be Monday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
Memorial contribution may be made to Order of the Eastern Star Cancer Research, the American Heart Association or Dufur Ambulance.
