Diane Olsen Layman, 83, passed away at her home in Goldendale, Wash., on Jan. 21, 2018. She was born in Portland, Ore., to Ruby (Sawyer) and Martin Rogholt on July 28, 1934.
Diane married Bob Olsen in August 1953 and they had four sons, Kenny, Kirk, Pete and Archie. Bob passed away on June 2, 1996. Diane later married Ed Layman in Kona, Hawaii, on April 18, 1999. He preceded her in death in 2016.
Diane retired from a career as a practical nurse and enjoyed ceramics, knitting, traveling, painting and sewing. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Connie Rogholt of Goldendale; sons and daughters-in-law Kenny Olsen and Julie Miller of The Dalles, Ore., Kirk and Debbie Olsen of Livermore, Calif., Pete and Kelly Olsen of Newberg, Ore., and Archie and Malinda Olsen of Carson, Wash.; stepchildren, Krissy Smalling of Bend, Ore., and Todd Layman of Spokane, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2018, at Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel in Goldendale, Wash. Condolences may be sent to the Layman family at www.gardnerfh.com.
