The Brooks family is saddened to share that Deborah “Debbie” L. (Wallace) Brooks passed away March 26, 2018, in Texas after a long battle with liver failure. Debbie was born Jan. 3, 1951, the the eldest of four to Delraine “Babe” (Grady) and William “Bill” Wallace in The Dalles, Ore.
Debbie graduated from Sherman High School in 1969. She married her high school sweetheart Charles “Chuck” Brooks. Chuck and Debbie moved around with his work for Burlington Northern Railroad but, for the most part, they called Sherman County their home. Debbie worked for the bank in Moro, Ore., and raised their three sons.
In 1997, work took them to Springtown, Texas, where they built a new home and celebrated their expanding family. Family was always Debbie’s number one priority in life. She was always supporting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at school events, sporting events. Her house was known as the place to be for family and friends. She made her home welcome to everyone. Birthdays and holidays were especially important to her, she was always finding a way to make celebrations and events special for her family. Debbie was impeccable at keeping in touch with people, she was texting, messaging, and sharing with friends and family daily. She had a knack at making the people in her life feel valued and went out of her way to share her love and kindness.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Chuck; their three sons: Rob and wife Karen (Davis) Brooks, Cory and wife Laura Brooks, and Marc Brooks; six grandchildren: Dylan Brooks and spouse Charlotte Bookman, Caitlin Krnavek, Brandon Brooks, Bryan Brooks, and Ashley Jordan; four great-grandchildren: Dalton, Lilly, Tyler and Hayden; brother, William “Bill” Wallace and wife Michelle; sister, Elizabeth (Wallace) Kennedy; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, that were blessed by her love over the years.
