David Scott Douthit, a lifelong resident of The Dalles, Ore., passed away July 28, 2018.

David Scott Douthit was born in The Dalles, to Carolynn and Harry Douthit on March 12, 1966.
He attended Wahtonka High School and graduated in 1984.
Dave served in the Marines as an aircraft mechanic from 1984 to 1987 in Yuma, Ariz. He held many jobs over the course of his life, including truck driving, NORCOR control technician and American Bulldog advocate.
Dave met the love of his life, Rebecca Kiser in a jail house romance in 2004. The two were united in marriage Feb. 22, 2013.
Dave is proceeded in death by father Harry Douthit; mother Carolynn Douthit; brother Donald Douthit.
Dave is survived by wife Rebecca Kiser Douthit; brother Allen (Od) Douthit; daughter Morgan Lynell; son Storm Scott Douthit; aunts, uncles, brothers-in- law, sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces, nephews, step-children, Tim Mears, Dan Mears, Megan Mears-Mitchell Mears; grandchildren, Matthew Worthen Mears, Justice Sailing, Dominick Mears, Logan Mears, Jaxsen Sailing, Jack Mears, Matilyn Mitchell and McKinley Mitchell.
Dave was an honest, trustworthy man who always pursued his passions and interests, advocated for his family and his own health. His presence could not be ignored. Dave inspired many of his friends to challenge conventional thinking and spurred deep soul-searching and reflection. Dave was strong, loyal, loving and insightful husband, a dedicated and loving father and an inspiration to his friends. He enjoyed hiking, weight lifting, riding his motorcycle but, most of all, researching American Bulldog lineage and creating the perfect pair to advance the breed standard. Dave brought joy to many families with the placement of his puppies, as he referred to himself as a “happiness dealer.”
Dave will be missed by many. His legacy will continue through his family, friends and bulldogs.
