Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
I met Norm in the winter of his life; me in my Autumn (although he debated that it was LATE Autumn). Norm was an unexpected surprise in my life. He made me laugh every day, dried a billion of my tears, protected me, respected me… loved me.
Norm was opinionated and poetic; out-spoken in local politics and soft-spoken to those he loved. His wit and IQ were amazing and he challenged my mind to prepare me to be a stronger woman.
Norm peacefully took his last breath while surrounded by family on Sunday, March 5, 2017.
I will miss his laugh, his smile, his warm hugs and sweet kisses. I will miss him all the days of my life and be grateful for the time he shared with me and my family. I know I will see you again, my precious Norm. Until then, my family and I will hold you in our hearts and recall the memories, wisdom and adventure you gifted us.

For those that loved and respected Norm, please join us for a Celebration of Life at Zim’s Brau Haus Restaurant and PUB, 604 East 2nd Street; The Dalles, Oregon Norm spent decades of time at Zim’s playing pool with his friends and representing Zim’s in their Pool League. It was an activity that he enjoyed dearly.
