Dale Edward Meyers, 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home in The Dalles, Ore. He was born in Boise, Idaho to Maxwell and Regina Meyers on July 21, 1946. He grew up in Boise and graduated from Borah High School in 1964.
Dale retired from the Army Corps of Engineers in 2008 after 32 years of service. At the time of his retirement he was a Chief Power Plant Operator at the John Day Dam.
He is survived by his sons, Brian (Gloria) of Washougal, Wash.; Brad (Sandra) of Sacramento, Calif.; and Blaine of Portland, Ore.; his 6 grandsons, Austin, Jake, Jordan, Jason, Garrett and Nolan; niece, Tracy Rafter; nephew, Craig Sabala; along with cousins mainly in Idaho and Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Sabala.
Dale loved watching NASCAR, and had been a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt. He enjoyed the company of and loved his cat, Spot. He liked to listen to classic rock and had a great sense of humor. He spent a lot of time on his computer sharing jokes by e-mail with his friends and family.
Dale was a member of the Loyal Order of Eagles in The Dalles, Ore., since 1996. He had many friends and enjoyed hanging out there visiting.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 12 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2006 W. 7th Street, The Dalles, Oregon.
