Clarence “Warren” Thornton Jr, a resident of The Dalles, Oregon died at home Wednesday December 3, 2014. He was 87 years old.
He was born January 12, 1927 in Spokane Washington, to Frieda and Clarence Warren Thornton Sr., the first of two children. He lived in Spokane most of his young life, attending North Central High School and graduating in 1944. He married Margaret Marie Montour on July 1, 1961, and both moved to The Dalles in 1962, were they remained since. He help establish the Black Butte Fire Department in 1972. Warren was a member of the Elks and enjoyed golf and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Margaret of The Dalles, OR; daughters Debbie Johnson and her husband Randy of The Dalles, OR; Denise Kilbourne and her husband Gregg of Scappoose, OR; Deanne Carrico and her husband Jamie of The Dalles, OR; son Doug Thornton and his wife Kristie of Aberdeen, WA and ten grandchildren, Amanda, Allie, Paige, Haley, Kyle, Annie, Payton, Ryan, Colin and Alyssa.
The family desires to have a Celebration of Life, to be announced at a later date.
