Chester Arthur Johnson

Chester Arthur “Chet” Johnson, 77, a long-time resident of The Dalles, OR passed away December 13, 2015 in Vancouver, WA after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Chet was born June 6, 1938 in Miller, South Dakota to Arthur and Vera (Walton) Johnson. He spent his childhood years in Miller, South Dakota before moving to Hood River, OR. He served in the United State Army from 1959 to 1962 working as a Construction Machine Operator in Germany. After discharge he settled in The Dalles, OR and worked a combined 25 years with the companies Harvey Aluminum, Martin Marietta, and Northwest Aluminum. Chet was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. In 1998, Chet retired and spent his years traveling with his wife, Cecelia and their dogs, Bambi, Mitzi, and Muffins. For the past two and a half years, Chet has lived with his daughter, Bonnie, and daughter-in-law, Lisa, on their farm in Amboy, WA where he enjoyed caring for goats, chickens, ducks, and a mini-donkey.
