Jesus gently took our precious daughter, sister and friend into His arms on January 5, 2016. Carrie was born in John Day, Oregon on August 23, 1958 to Jim and Toddy Stovall. She spent her formative years in Eugene, Oregon after moving there with her parents and four siblings in 1961.
In 1974 her family moved to The Dalles, Oregon where she graduated from The Dalles High School in 1976. She worked locally in hospitality and retail before moving to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida where she lived for more than 20 years. She loved her family, friends, her two cats and paddle boarding.
Carrie achieved her sobriety in 1997 and celebrated her 18th year sober in November of 2015. She would always say that is was her greatest accomplishment.
Carrie is survived by; her parents, Jim and Toddy Stovall, her brother Mike Stovall (Sue), her sister, Margaret Hill (Art), sister Cindy Schlager (Dave), a niece, 2 nephews, 5 great nieces, a great nephew, a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and her cats; Frankie & Simba. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kelly Stovall and both her paternal and maternal grandparents.
A graveside service will be held in John Day, Oregon at the Canyon City Cemetery, Friday, May 20th at 11:00 AM. Celebration of life to follow at the John Day Golf Club.
