Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high, there's a place that I dreamed of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue. And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.....
It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our mother, Beryl Schantz Wilcox, who passed away in Springfield, Ore., on Thursday April 26, 2018, at the age of 89.
She was a gifted artist and an avid collector of colorful objects, large and small, with one of her best collections being an entire set of first-edition L. Frank Baum “Oz” books.
When she was asked recently what she would like to be remembered for, she simply stated that she was a good mother.
This she was: Seven children, 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and their many partners, have all been profoundly touched by this woman who was both glamorous and down-to-earth, comfortable and tasteful, fantastical and present.
She has now gone to be with our father who, two years ago forged the path, and they are now once again together somewhere over the rainbow.
We will miss them very much. Kip, Su, Gigi, Robin, Eric, Jennifer and Maria Wilcox.
