Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Two amazing events happened on August 21, 2017, one was a total Solar Eclipse, and the other was Barbara June McCubbin released her spirit into God's hands as she stepped across the Rainbow Bridge into heaven and was greeted by her parents, Roy and Letta Johnson; siblings Alden and Kathleen; husband of 52 years, Charles (Chuck) McCubbin, and all of her family and friends who have passed before.
Barbara's journey was short and unexpected after 89 years of good health.
In her own terms explaining the diagnosis," I guess I just blew a gasket." This is so like Barb. Life is what happens and we just make the best of it.
Along this journey, was the most wonderful rainbow team of Hospice angels from Providence Regional in Everett, Wash., who kept her comfortable and pain free.
Barbara's last week on earth was filled with wonderful memories, laughter, songs both old and new, videos and pictures of the newest twiglets on the family tree.
Sharing this precious time were Barb's daughter Lynnette Nelson and spouse Roger Erickson; son Tim McCubbin; grandson Lawrence Wilson; granddaughter Brydget Forest; dear friends and neighbor, Tiffany and Tanisha Pruitt and a myriad of prayer warriors buoying her as the journey progressed across the rainbow bridge.
It was amazingly wonderful of God to arrange for that beautiful Solar Eclipse as a last hoorah for Barbara. She left peacefully in a blaze of God’s glory at 3:25 p.m. with Lynnette by her side as promised. Roger was also there, rock solid as always. Barb and Chuck are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary in heaven, complete with a cake made by Ron Dunsmore, her boss at the Bake-Kitchen Bakery where she worked 34 years.
Welcome to heaven, Barb, "There are always more cakes to frost."
