THE DALLES — The Dalles Little League hosted a field clean up on March 8 to prepare for their 65th season offering baseball to youth. They hosted a gear swap and people brought their clean items and swapped them out for new-to-them gear.
Opening Day is April 5 starting at 9 a.m. This year, the Board of The Dalles Girls Softball Association has made the decision to unite with The Dalles Little League (TDLL). This strategic move will help them align the baseball and softball programs.
At the end of February, TDLL reported they have almost 500 athletes aged 5-15 participating this season.
TDLL has chartered 10 divisions of baseball/softball including their adaptive baseball program, Challengers, which is for children with developmental and physical disabilities. Challengers plays Sundays at Kramer beginning April 4 at 4 p.m.
TDLL partnered with Wasco County to make an investment in two new scoreboards for the fields on the east end of Kramer, those will be installed in the with some help from Crestline Construction and Pray Electric. TDLL is continuing to work with Wasco County to make responsible upgrades to the entire park to improve field conditions and ensure safety is a top priority.
All Star Tourney in TD
TDLL is hosting the Little League District 5 All Star Tournament this year, with over 40 teams. Opening ceremonies beginning June 20.
Throughout the season, we will be hosting round robin weekend games for our older team divisions. We also have upcoming events this season including the T-Mobile Home Run Derby.
