THE DALLES — Mid-Columbia Senior Center hosted their 2021 Wasco County Ageless Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m.

The Ageless Awards honor volunteers 75 and older for their contribution to their community. Each year, there are four awards given out. This year, the winners were Sherry Munro, Duane and Sue Powell, Darrell France, and Mary Davis and the Fort Dalles Floozies.

Across the board, a majority The Dalles swim team showed vast improvements on their times at the 52nd annual Pendleton Open from July 6-8 in Pendleton. Of the impressive group of swimmers, all of TD’s points were scored by the 9-year-old and under swimmers with Sam Ford, 7, scoring the most points at 28.

The countdown is on the for the official start of the summer swim campaign. From Friday-through-Sunday, The Dalles swim team sounds the bell on 2018 with the 67th annual Ted Walker Invitational at the North Wasco County Aquatics Center.

With one final chance to put up a captivating performance, The Dalles swim team did not disappoint. At the season-ending Oregon City Spring Forward Meet held on March 10-11, the local group racked up 12 top-5 finishes, including a team-best second-place output by Lydia DiGennaro in the 100-meter butterfly, a third out of Kendall Webber and fourths from Salma Ladkani and Sky Coburn.
