Charges — Aug. 4-10, Bingen-White Salmon police arrested on person on a warrant.
Aug. 3-9, Hood River police charged people with assault (one), domestic violence (two), disorderly conduct (one), driving suspended (one), DUII (two), false info (one), harassment (three), misuse of 911 (one), warrant (two).
Last week, Oregon State police charged people with DUII (one). Other agencies don’t log arrests, but Wasco County logged five warrant-related incidents, The Dalles 11.
Police briefs— On Aug. 4, Bingen-White Salmon police logged a capsized boat, handled by another agency.
Critters — Aug. 4-10, Bingen-White Salmon police logged two animal calls: Officers couldn’t find a barking dog, and a chicken got loose. The Dalles added 13 dogs and four other critters last week; Wasco County seven animals, just two of them dogs.
Thefts, property — Hood River police recorded seven thefts Aug. 4-10: Two bikes, shoplifting at Walmart and Hood River Supply, possible fake $100 bill at Dairy Queen, theft at Sinclair.
Separately, a passport was reported as lost property. And a vehicle reported stolen in White Salmon Aug. 6. The Dalles added six theft logs.
False call — A person was arrested in Hood River for initiating a false report and misuse of 911 on Aug. 4.
DUIIs — Two DUII arrests in Hood River: A Washington resident was arrested on DUII charges after calling in and self-reporting they were intoxicated. The Dalles made two DUII-related logs.
Egged — Aug. 8, an officer took a report from a resident whose vehicle was hit by multiple eggs.
Vehicle crashes — Also, crashes Aug. 4 and Aug. 6, both in Bingen and Aug. 10 in White Salmon, no known injuries. Eight vehicle crashes recorded in The Dalles last week, all in different spots.
Wasco County added three: One on Highway 26 at milepost 63, one near White Salmon which deputies couldn’t find, one Aug. 13 on F A Morrow Road.
Fraud — Fraud investigation in White Salmon Aug. 5. The Dalles logged two frauds, three ID thefts last week.
Burglaries — Aug. 9, burglary on Home Court, The Dalles logged.
Stats — A domestic violence report from Bingen-White Salmon police. Thirteen domestic violence logs, an assault log and two suicide logs from The Dalles. OSP took a domestic violence report and helped Sherman County deputies with an assault between three males in Rufus.
Mental health — Eleven mental health calls in The Dalles last week, one elsewhere in Wasco County.
Something happened — Aug. 12, 8:22 a.m., Hostetler Street, call initially logged as a restraining order violation, final call type: Robbery.
Drugs — a solitary drug incident was logged on W. Ninth, The Dalles, Aug. 12.
Pursuit — Aug. 12, 12:26 a.m., vehicle pursuit by a Wasco County deputy on Hwy 30 and Adeline Way.
Injury crash — A motorcycle rider on Highway 218 near milepost 17 failed to negotiate a left curve, fell off their vehicle, and was LifeFlighted to Bend with serious injuries.
Three non-injury crashes — A Subaru hit a deer on I-84, milepost 103 eastbound Aug. 9; a commercial semi moved into the fast lane of I-84, forcing a Subaru into the gravel median Aug. 13; Ford Tudor going too fast for conditions rear-ended a Kia Sorrento on Highway 35 Aug. 13.
