Sam Smith Fans Left Terrified At Manchester Concert Blackout
- unbranded - Entertainment
Sam Smith fans were left terrified and in shock during a blackout evacuation at the Manchester Arena. Following the tragic Ariana Grande concert bombing that took place in 2017, some concertgoers were instantly alarmed. After only four songs, the 31-year-old singer got into vocal trouble and promptly exited the stage, leaving the venue in darkness for 20 minutes. Fans were not informed of why Smith left the stage and were just told to leave the arena. One fan on Twitter wrote, “It was so insensitive the way the audience found out. Especially with it being 6 years since the arena attacks!". Following the concert, they took to Instagram to apologize to fans, referring to a virus that strained their vocals. "I don’t know what to say honestly. I fought off a virus a few weeks ago and since then we traveled across Europe and had such incredible shows" - Sam Smith. Smith also wrote that they “tried everything” to get their voice back, and “love you all. I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry.”
