OVH is seeking a full time Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our social services department.

General Position Summary:
The Clinical Social Worker is an experienced person who can work with the most difficult residents exhibiting mental and behavioral health issues by creating a trauma informed environment, providing regular individual and group therapy, using effective communication, and collaboration between departments.

Education and Experiences:
1. Master’s Degree required. LCSW – preferred. Minimum 1 year working with Veteran and/or geriatric population.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides in-house counseling for residents with mental health needs, including trauma, grief, PTSD, adjustment disorder, severe mental illness, and neurocognitive disorders. (Clinical case load)
2. Evaluates resident’s needs relating to psychosocial wellbeing/adjustment to placement, trauma, mood, and behavior issues.
3. Formulates written plan(s) to address the needs of the residents.
4. Creates and applies non-pharmacological interventions.
5. Consultation for Social Service Department compliance with State, Federal, and Veteran’s Administration regulations on mental health.
6. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and community resource referrals – in conjunction with nursing and ancillary services.
7. Coordination of other psychiatric consultation and crisis intervention, when needed.
8. Participates in the Psychotropic Review Committee.
9. Consultation to family, providers, and care team regarding behavioral health interventions.
10. Responsible for the social services caseload/casework of Delta Wing only (approximately 20-25 residents).
11. Train staff on trauma informed care and appropriate interventions.
12. Act as a liaison between families and residents.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Social Services Director.
14. Stay current with mandatory trainings and competencies.
