HOOD RIVER — After years of fundraising, the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum (WAAAM) is expanding its display space once again. This new addition will mark the fourth addition to the original museum, which opened in September 2007.
“With more than 400 airplanes, cars, and motorcycles currently in the collection our display floors are a little tight,” said Museum Director Stephanie Hatch. “We’ve been very fortunate over the years that people have been so generous with donating their transportation history and we’re pleased to kick off this new expansion for the benefit of our future preservation efforts.”
Visitors to the Annual Hood River Fly-In on Sept. 6-7 will be able to get a walk-through preview of the new space. The addition is schedule to be completely finished by late winter of this year.
WAAAM is located at 1600 Air Museum Road. For more information, visit www.waaamuseum.org.
